I know I spend way too much time on the computer. How? Because the mountain of washing in the other room has hit the roof- again.
It seems that the online world is very dangerous. There are way too many fun sites to visit, including my own, and I’m the kind of person who is going to join a site if I have a genuine interest in it.
The dilemna that comes from so many site hopping sessions, is that I tend to spend much time catching up on each one every few days. Neglect of the housework from this is totally inevitable.
Combating my growing online and general computer time problem isn’t going to be easy. A schedule is in the works so I can make the most of all the sites I visit, as well as keep up with my other hobbies and the housework. I’m also hoping to be able to schedule trips out of the house without the kids to help me keep my sanity-a trip to the dentist will count as quality time away from the noise and tripping over toys (it isn’t often I get to sit/lay down without doing anything), though I’m hoping for more exciting excursions like shopping or craft classes or just going out for a coffee or even to the library.
My schedule is a 2 part one. The first part is the list of things I want to be able to do- hobbies and housework. This is a list that is broken up into the various categories (thank you Microsoft for the templates!!!) and then a weekly and monthly number of occurance is given, which then tells me how often something is to be done.
The second part of the schedule is the daily tasks. This is set up for a month, with each new week to a page (landscape view). Starting with the blank spreadsheet, I then go and enter in the task items. Naturally, there are going to be left over squares, and to these, I will find something to do to fill them (like catch up on sleep?) or use them to catch up on the tasks I have not been able to complete from previous days.
I don’t know if it will work though. There are only so many things I can do in any given day (breastfeeding mother and all), which is why I am beginning to wonder if I haven’t over commited my online escapes. Ouch it hurts to be honest about it, but with 8 sites I haunt on a regular basis (not including my own!!!), I think the hurt is more than justified.
But, am I going to give any of them up? Nope. I need each and everyone of them. Heaven help me though if I join any social network/reconnection sites like Facebook or MySpace- I think my husband would file a missing persons report.

I have no notions of being the greatest computer tech in the world. My skills are limited, though I am learning more all the time and updating old ones
leave any for other shoppers? And what about sticky tape? We have had fun trying to rip it all apart, and some of the decorations will be kept for next year.
